As usual around this time of the year, there are a lot of Reggae Festivals all over Europe. We are very delighted to support the biggest Reggae Events happening in Europe - the Rototom Sunsplash Festival in Ossoppo near by Udine/Italy. 250.000m² large Rivellino Park will turn into a unique Reggae Village following this years motto "Mother Earth"! More than 100.000 visitors from all over Europe will witness an outstandig lineup and a very special ambiance. The festival will be held for 9 days and looking at the lineup it couldn´t be any less. Artists like Grammy winner Beenie Man, Black Uhuru feat. Michael Rose, Yellowman, Damian Marley, Anthony B, Veteran-Superstar Jimmy Cliff and Anthony Cruz with Richie Spice are just some of them.

Update May 18th: The Winners of the German and Austrian Band-Awards which will perform on the main stage are now finally chosen: Jahcoustix from and for Germany and Mono & Nikitaman and House of Riddim for Austria with the same amount of votes! Congratulations!!

Again, we are very happy to support and back up one of Europes biggest Reggae Festival over the past 20 years. The good old Summerjam Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year! What started 1986 with a one-day festival at the Loreley (GER) open air theater, goes into it´s 20th round - now located at the beloved Cologne-Bay Area at the Fühlinger See. A beautiful recreation area with many lakes surrounded by lushy green. Just the right spot to give it an original "Yard" feeling. For the 20th anniversary some specials are being arranged with artists that followed the Summerjam tradition from the very beginning like U-Roy, Gregory Isaacs, Yelloman and many more.

Now 20 year old Sleng Teng Riddim - which was according to reggae history world´s first digital riddim and first played at the world famous radio clash between Barry G. and David Rodigan (only available for download when you´re registered and logged in) and with probably more than 500 versions most successful riddim ever - will have it´s well deserved birthday party in Berlin June 10th featuring Echo Minott, John Wayne, Soul Stereo Sound, Barney Millah, Universal Strugglaz, Cocotone and Metrosphere in Club H20.

Tomorrow four Munich top soundsystems come to battle for the unofficial "King of Munich"-Trophy in a soundclash that will be broadcast LIVE on www.reggaeradio.info again. The thrill is on, as leading sound systems will battle for the ultimate bragging rights on Easter Monday in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Horns, whistles, torches, and the roar of excited sound clash fans will infiltrate Pier 1 on March 28, 2005, when Death Before Dishonor 5 "Jamaica’s World Clash" makes a triumphant return. The monumental competition will feature top-of-the-line sound systems including the defending champion Black Kat, Bass Odyssey, Tony Matterhorn, Freddy (formerly of Kilamanjaro), Mighty Crown (Japan) and One Love (Italy).

On March 4th german veteran sound Pow Pow Movement will celebrate their 15th anniversary and their 10th anniversary in their resident club " Petit Prince" with a massive dancehall event. Besides the recently completely redesigned and relaunched Pow Pow website they are just about to release their latest riddim, the so-called "Gladiator"-Riddim. Claat.com will for sure be there - and hopefully deliver full footage..

January 29th 2005, www.Franken-Reggae.de celebrates its first anniversary with a clash of upcoming soundsystems. Stepping in the musical arena are Shaolin Soundstation (Erlangen/Nuremberg), Mangotree (Nuremberg) and Buzzin Bashment (Munich). The previously announced Franconian Clash - as only Franconian sounds should enter the competition - could now be considered a Franconia vs. Bavaria clash.

One Year ago, reggaeradio.info started the first livebroadcast with an SOS Jamaica special support event outta Ulm, GER. This was just a prelude for a year full of livebroadcasts and special shows to come. The reggaeradio crew remembers this birthday with a few livesessions from the participating artists and soundsystems. And of course there is no birthday without a birthday special: The Crew organized a big livebroadcast outta Hamburg with Heartical Soundsystem and Selectah Till from Soundquake Soundsystem. When Irish and Chin set out to bring the sound clash industry some much needed shine in 1997, we didn’t expect that they would lock down the whole industry and take the clash world by storm! Since 1998 when the first “World Clash” event took place, Irish and Chin have set their sites on making the event bigger and better every year; and, 2004 was no exception. This years World Clash let patrons see how wicked a European crew can get and also made history as the crowd looked on to see the reigning champ lock down another show.

The sound clash industry received unprecedented success and media attention this year. However, due to the withdrawal of many selectors/sound systems from the clash arena, at times the clash industry seemed dormant. So, Irish and Chin, Inc. decided to wake things up a bit with the launch of World Clash Weekend. "The Greatest Clash on Earth" has become even greater, as sound clash fans can now experience an action-packed weekend of clash events including World Clash (plus a female clash) and the 45 Shoot Out at the Amazura Entertainment Complex in Queens, New York. During Columbus Day weekend, over sixteen selectors/sound systems will battle in front of thousands of clash fans. From Saturday, October 9 to Sunday, October 10, World Clash Weekend will set a new standard for the clash industry.

Just when the temperature cooled down from Death Before Dishonor, another thrilling clash experience awaits sound clash fans. This time around, it's Irish and Chin's U.S. Rumble 2004, where U.S. based sound systems will duke it out for a chance to be the new U.S. Champion on July 10 at Emerald Lounge in Bronx, New York. This year, the prize is two-fold. First, the winner will represent the United States at international sound clash events including World Clash 2004, UK Cup Clash 2005, Death Before Dishonor 2005 and a host of others. Second, courtesy of Puma, the U.S. Rumble champion will have the phenomenal opportunity to go to the Olympics. There, the champion will play at a pre-Olympics fete in Athens, Greece!

It´s summertime again and with it a load of yearly festivals is coming up. One of every years highlights is for sure " Summerjam" taking place in Claat.com's Hometown - Cologne, Germany. Well massive, check out the "Jamaican Bashment" in Le Mans, France. The event is taking place in Les Mans on Saturday, May 1st with a double feature of the original "Jamaican Bashment" with live artistes featuring French Massive and Jah Mason and Turbulance as well until 1AM in the morning and followed up by the long anticipated "North Clash" with Rootsman from UK versus Downbeat the Ruler from NY.

History will be made on Easter Monday, April 12, 2004 when Irish and Chin Inc., VP Records and Puma stage the most reputable sound system competition in the Caribbean, Death Before Dishonor

Zum Monatsende gibt es dann wieder den Domino Club im Hafenklang. Das Kangaroots Soundsystem mit Lars Vegas trifft diesmal auf Bandulero Sound. Die fünf Berliner werden mit ihrer bewährten Mischung aus aktuellem Dancehall, einer Prise Soca und vielen selbstproduzierten Dubplates und Remixen nun erstmals auch das Hamburger Publikum begeistern.

Am 27. Februar ist das Grand Opening des von nun an monatlich stattfindenden "Chalice Club" im Fundbureau. Zukünftig werden We Are Mafia Promotions hier jeden vierten Freitag des Monats ein abwechslungsreiches Programm bieten, dass alle Spielarten des Reggae abdecken und auch einmal über diese Grenzen hinausgehen wird..

In Hamburg feiert im Waagenbau ein neuer Club Premiere: "Treasure Isle Dancehall" findet von nun an monatlich ab dem 14.Februar jeweils am zweiten Samstag des Monats statt.
