More Madness..
More Madness..
To sum it all up: An overall very nice events that cannot be topped so easily, but that could have profited from a better concept and a little more love to the music. Nothing honestly referred to the title of the event, one of the greatest misses of it. The one or other may have noticed that some of the big dawgz a di dancehall-biz came along to show up and therefore give respect to Rodigans work ?of a lifetime. Namely these were Mr. Harper for Jaro, Wee Pow for Stonelove and Father Zeeks for Bass Odyssey. For the audience, let´s hope that they don´t loose their power and positiveness but to show some more respect and love for old stuff, which is fundamental for Dancehall as we know it today. A little more knowledge about reggaeculture and open-minded-ness in general would do better to the german reggae-community rather than just repeating the actual dancehalltunes.

According to the promotion and execution of the festival through Summerjam-promoter Contour-Music one needs to say, that they expected around 8000 paying guests, but as with fridays paying 1800 guest and and saturdays 2300 paying guest overall, this event must have been a financial desaster for them. Besides, for comparably fair 40,- Euro for such a big event, where all announced artists really appeared, they audience could be fully satisfied to have seen an international cross-section of 40 totally different soundsystems with different focal points. International visitors also attended the event as it seems, showed interest and respect and stated such things as Reggae in Germany is about 100x what it is in the UK so look out everyone cause that is where it is at in Europe at the moment. Large up dancehall inna germoney fi sure!!!

We shouldn´t miss to mention the few negative things that were going along with the event as the securities showing no mercy with people trying to light their torches and pol?ice and undercover cops doing totally unfounded personal searches for illegal substances up into to the deepest holes of man. One had the feeling that the nearby Police School took every chance to do practical tests with us: Undercover Cops, personal searches, Raids with dogs pon the tent-yard and complete blocking of all streets leading to and from the festival after the final show to search cars and test drivers for alcohol and drug-abuse through sweat-tests. Knowing that one of the largest Open Air House- and Techno Festivals is held just around the corner each year - namely Nature One Festival - it seems like a total over-reaction of local authorities.

Anyway, Cla.at Crew is looking forward to the next year when this great event hopefully will be held again. In this case we´ll try everything again to ensure Reports and maybe even Live-Rundowns and Stream. We´ll see what the future will bring.
