Euro Sound War 2006 - Statements for the upcoming Clash

Well, in preparation for one of the first german clashes that features an international set of artists - you maybe already heard of " Euro Sound War 2006" - each sound had the chance to give a ´lil interview and set their mark for the upcoming war. Read on for interviews and further information..

Immortal (UK):
1. The name "Immortal" means: "Can't die"

2. Immortal prepares for a clash by keeping their powder dry

Gramigna (Italy):
1. "Gramigna" is a kind of "bad herb" typical from the South of Italy (a part of the crew come from this region). It grows everywhere, you can cut it and cut it and cut it, but it will grow up again, again and again... you really caan kill Gramigna. Gramigna represent our way to think about music, play music, play shows, based on the jamaican sound system scene, born, grow & made in ITALY, looking on an International way.

2. We prepare for soundclash just doing what we do everyday, thinking about tunes... the biggest tunes, lyrics & riddims, fi make the people gwaan mad inna di dance. Our music is fi de people.

3. We nah have to tell too much... dem know... everybody know... it will be sticky pon dem to bloodchlat!

Freddy Krueger (Jamaica):
1. When I started as a selector my name was "Freddy". After killing so many Sounds while playing Big Sounds like Super Dee and Killamanjaro people used to call me Freddy Krueger - the killer. Freddy Krueger means : Entertainment for the people and nightmare for selectors!

Soundquake (Germany):

1. Soundquake was established in 1994. In these times only a few soundsystems were representing Continental-Europe in a proper way. The intention of the crew was to bring the Jamaican music to the German audience in the traditional yard style. The crew members build their own set of speakers, bought some terrifying amps and were shaking not only the crowd but also roofs and walls of the buildings where they were playing. This heavy sound,reminding you of an earthquake, created the name for the heaviest machine out of Germany: Soundquake

2. In modern day clashes most sounds are just cheap carbon copies, only playing dubplates which were created by others. Soundquake is known for playing their own style and their own anthems. Creating anthems is a never-ending process for the crew, which makes their dub box one of the deepest dub boxes in Europe right now. Hence there is no need for a special clash preparing.
Certain other sounds better get prepared for that night!

3. @ Immortal: You guys chose the wrong name for your sound. Zombie fits much better as you are dead already!
@ Freddy: Still alive? Wow, did not see you playing for a long time! After
clash go ask Mr. Harper to hire you as a box bwoy again!
@ Graminga: The Romans could not cross our border 2000 years ago. Learn from history get accustomed to your destiny!
