The event, also dubbed "Jamaica's World Clash", will take place at the spacious outdoor arena, Pier 1 in Montego Bay, Jamaica. At the competition, top notch sound systems/selectors will volley for the Death Before Dishonor Title and a chance to accompany Jamaica's Olympic Team to Athens, Greece for the Summer Olympics. In Athens, along with other reggae artists, the winner will perform at a monumental event honoring the success of Reggae music.

Death Before Dishonor 4 has graduated to the highest level of the sound clash industry. The event's hefty prize package also guarantees the winner an appearance on VP Records' Reggae Gold, the world's greatest selling Reggae compilation and clothes from Puma.

"Death Before Dishonor 4 will serve as both a platform for the elite members of the clash arena to display their talents and as a greatly rewarded opportunity", says Chin of Irish and Chin, Inc.

This year's line up will feature such heavy hitters as the defending champion Tony Matterhorn, Ricky Trooper, Mighty Crown, Poison Dart and Black Kat. At the competition, the sound systems/selectors will be given a fair chance to earn the title. The immense talent of each member of the line up will surely pose a challenge. However, the approval by thousands in attendance will be the determining factor.

The competition will consist of five rounds, which vary between 10-15 minutes. A winner will be declared after each round. The sound that wins the most rounds after the five rounds are completed will win the clash. A "tune-fi-tune" round will only take place if there is a tie between sounds.

Death Before Dishonor 4 promises to be an exciting and energy filled event. The audience will be part of the ultimate sound clash experience, a major element of Dancehall Reggae culture.

"Death Before Dishonor 4 will definitely attract the international media," says Chin. "It will provide the clash industry with honors that are well over due."

After wiping out contenders in three of five rounds at last year's competition, Tony Matterhorn secured his second consecutive Death Before Dishonor Title. Sound clash fans are anxiously anticipating his fate this year.

Irish and Chin, Inc. staged the first Death Before Dishonor three years ago, as a vehicle of rebuilding the sound clash industry in Jamaica, its' birthplace. Through the event, members of the sound clash fraternity were given an opportunity to display their talents in front of a Jamaican audience.

Because of the overwhelming success of Death Before Dishonor's first staging, a larger venue was needed. Hence, the event was relocated to its' current home, Pier 1 in Montego Bay. The move warranted a maximum amount of patrons.

Irish and Chin, Inc., who reign as "Defenders of the Clash World", have locked down the business for quite some time. Irish and Chin's staging of the phenomenal "World Clash" series of events has made them a household name.

"We at Irish and Chin, Inc. have been building the clash industry for eight long years", says Chin. "Being able to send one of our sound systems/selectors to Athens is a great reward. We thank Puma and VP Records for making this happen."

Event co-sponsor VP Records, celebrating their 25th anniversary, is the world's leading distributor of Reggae music. VP Records boasted a phenomenal year in 2003, as two of their artists, Sean Paul and Lady Saw, won Grammy awards in February. Additionally, VP records was named by Billboard as the #1 Reggae Label Imprint. Finally, Sean Paul and Dancehall's overall mainstream appeal enabled VP Records to maintain firm positions on the Billboard charts.

Puma, a German company, has been a leading name in sportswear since the 1970s. The company is the outfitter of Jamaica's soccer team, the Reggae Boys. Puma recently established a relationship with VP Records and their artists Elephant Man and Buju Banton.
