I guess the man himself needs no further introduction when we announce the latest release by Maguari Productions from Veteran Singer Echo Minott. More interesting may be the fact that "Roots of Dancehall - Anthology 1982-2005" is the first CD ever released by himself in cooperation with the aforementioned french based label.

Still a release from late 2005 and more than overdue for a review already especially since it didn´t receive too much media attention on the web yet. This release is a collectors item for sure as it features all the hits by one of the probably most respected and well-known veterans from digital dancehall style and who´s - even today - voicing countless dubs for soundsystems all over the world making sure to lock off any dance.

You will receive a release with 21 of digital era´s greatest hits on some of the most important riddims of that time like the murder-hit Sleng-Teng Riddim, Lazy Body Riddim, Fresh Riddim, Punanny Riddim and What the Hell Riddim just to name a few. If you want to find out more about his biography and numerous collaborations he had with a huge row of producers and about the history of some of his songs as well i recommend reading this article originally written by Rootsman and currently updated by Maguari Productions.

As an absolute collectors item coming as a limited edition with crystal clear mixing/editing, this release gets one of our very rare 10/10 on our ranking-scale and receives a special place in my collection.
