Expectations for 4 Big Sound 45Clash in U-Club, Germany featuring sound like Freddy Krueger, Jah Sound, Dreadbeat and Supersonic Sound were high as Freddy was clashing for his own sound after the current split from Killamanjaro for the very first time.

Short Rundown:
Freddy Krueger started off with some straight dancehall style set and was more or less sticking to it over the whole event. Seems that he learned from his experience from last Clash at the same location versus David Rodigan who was playing a not so classical clashlike but straight audience oriented set - and took the trophy with it. Last time Freddy was more than outraged over that fact but seemed to have adapated to the situation rapidly.

Secondly Supersonic introduced themselves and convinced with a nice and solid round playing a powerful set as we´re already accustomed to.

Third contestant to appear was RIDDIM-magazines own editor Gerd Gummersbach with his Sound Dreadbeat from Cologne. Dreadbeat probably was the oldest sound to appear that night but is nearly unknown and was lacking not tunes but a massive to push them forward right away. Playing classical tunes from the very start they just missed the audiences demand for dancehall styles but earned the deserved respect for playing well-selected stuff.

Jah Sound was to appear as last and took care for a long discussion breaking the no-cuss/no-wartune rules of that round. According to this and the audiences decision they were already declared dead by Pionear from Germaican Records, the judge of the night, as the promoter took them back to the second round.

Jah Sound played their cards totally wrong from then on, insisting on some kind of bias situation and dissing the other participants. For this they posed an easy target for the other sounds - listen to Freddys´ comments at the end of the second round for example - and were rewarded the first sound to be voted out after the second round.

Dreadbeat still played nice and intelligent tune inna third round but couldn´t convince the dancehall-oriented massive still. Sorry to see them go but Freddy and Supersonic for sure were in the massives deep favour and therefore took it to the Dub fi Dub round where they finally took it personal.

Where Supersonic somehow sticked to the "unwritten Foundation-Rule" of a serious Dub fi Dub round, Freddy Krueger still played Dancehall tune like Bounty, Elephant and T.O.K. and got away with it, finally taking the trophy for the Clash. Well, we won´t judge the outcome here as you´re able to download and listen to the full Clash in our Download Database.

Anyway, we wish Freddy good luck for his solo-career after the somehow good start in Wuppertal and are looking forward to the Riddim-Soundclash in October when Freddy Krueger, Ricky Trooper, One Love Hi Pawa and Supersonic Sound will meet and the time for a rematch has come..
